Jeffrey P. Horblit

President and Chief Executive Officer

Jeffrey P. Horblit is an experienced attorney, prosecutor, and investigator. He brings to NEIG a unique combination of education, training, and experience, as well as an investigative team that is second to none.

Prior to joining NEIG, Mr. Horblit founded and managed a successful law firm, served as an Assistant District Attorney in New York City, and was a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Mr. Horblit was also in-house counsel for LPL Financial, one of the nation’s largest independent broker-dealers.

During the course of his professional life, Mr. Horblit has investigated, litigated, and in some cases tried to verdict cases involving financial crimes, conspiracy, drug trafficking, money laundering, fraud, theft of property, workplace misconduct, discrimination, civil rights violations, homicide, and terrorism.

As an Assistant District Attorney and FBI Agent, Mr. Horblit planned, implemented, and managed sensitive and complex investigations utilizing the most advanced investigative techniques and technology, including wiretaps and undercover operations. While at the FBI, Mr. Horblit served as Team Leader of one of the FBI’s Evidence Response Teams (ERT).

Mr. Horblit has lectured at the FBI Academy and FBI field offices on important aspects of internal investigations, effective management of sensitive inquiries, and the many challenges presented by undercover operations. Mr. Horblit has received commendations and awards from the Director of the FBI and the U.S. Attorney’s Office in connection with various sensitive and long-term investigations.

Throughout the course of his professional career, Mr. Horblit has established personal and professional relationships with current and former members of state, local, and federal agencies, including the FBI, United States Attorney’s Office, Office of the District Attorney (New York and Massachusetts), U.S. Department of State, U.S. Department of Justice, Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Mr. Horblit began his professional career in 1980 with the Brookline, Massachusetts Police Department, where he served as a patrol officer and later as a detective. As a police officer, Mr. Horblit received numerous commendations and awards, including The American Legion Medal of Valor and Police Officer of the Year.

Mr. Horblit is a graduate of the Fordham University School of Law and is licensed to practice law in Massachusetts, New Jersey, and New York.

John A. Hennessey

Principal

Mr. Hennessey is the President of Northeast Security, Inc., and has over 25 years of leadership experience in security operations, law enforcement and property management. Mr. Hennessey has held senior security operations leadership positions in the commercial real estate and hospitality industries, and property management leadership positions supporting the physical and tactical design and operations of some of the region’s signature properties. Mr. Hennessey is a long-standing member of the American Society for Industrial Security, Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association and the Building Owners and Managers Association. Mr. Hennessey is a graduate of Northeastern University.

Steven Barner

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Barner has over 20 years of progressively challenging financial, administrative and operational experience in a variety of industries. A graduate of Bentley College with a B.S. in Accountancy, Mr. Barner is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Management Accountant. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants and Institute of Certified Management Accountants.
